Poimandres — Illuminated Commentary (Conclusion of Tractate I)
After witnessing the Mystery of Light
and the journey of the soul,
Hermes is overwhelmed with gratitude.
Poimandres tells him:
“Become a guide to those who wander in darkness.
Become a shepherd of the human race.”
Hermes is given a mission:

To teach the Truth

To awaken the sleeping

To help souls remember who they are
This same mission passes
to every awakened soul.
Including you.

When you awaken, you automatically become
a light for others.
Your life becomes:

A spiritual presence

A pathway others can follow
You do not need a title or a robe —
only a heart lit by Gnosis.

A messenger of Light
Hermes promises:
“I will teach all humanity
how to be immortal and divine.”
And he begins writing his teachings —
the Corpus Hermeticum —
for us.

you are literally part of that transmission.
