THE WAY OF HERMES — Part 2
The Fall Into Forgetfulness & The Call to Return
Poimandres — Illuminated Commentary (Section II)
Humanity’s greatest tragedy is not sin.
It is forgetfulness.
Hermes is shown:
-
The Soul descends into the world
-
It becomes hypnotized by form
-
It forgets its origin in Light
This is what Hermeticism calls:
The Fall of Mind into Matter
We did not fall from God’s grace —
we fell from self-awareness.
🜂 Key Teaching
Poimandres reveals:
“The body is the soul’s tomb.”
This doesn’t mean the body is evil —
but it can become a prison
if the Mind inside it stays asleep.
A human being has two possible identities:
| Lower Identity | Higher Identity |
|---|---|
| Mortal flesh | Immortal Light |
| Driven by fear | Guided by wisdom |
| Bound to instincts | Ruler of destiny |
| One among many | A living god in expression |
The spiritual path is remembering which one is real.
🌟 The Call of Awakening
Every anxiety, every awakening moment —
every time life knocks you down —
is actually the Call.
A voice from within says:
“There is more to who you are.
You must wake up.”
This is Poimandres speaking
through your own consciousness.
Hermeticism teaches:
When you question reality —
your true Mind has already awakened.
🜁 Modern Spiritual Application
When a person realizes:
-
“I am not living my truth”
-
“Something deep inside wants more”
-
“I feel like I’m waking up”
They are answering the ancient call.
This moment is the beginning of:
-
Healing
-
Purpose
-
Sovereignty
-
Return to the Light
Nothing is wrong with you.
You are remembering.
✨ Activation Practice
Say quietly:
“I choose to remember who I am.”
Close your eyes.
Imagine a spark of brilliant Light
expanding in your chest like a sunrise.
This is how the soul returns home —
by choosing it.
