THE WAY OF HERMES — Part 28
The Noble Path — Choosing the Divine Over the Animal
Tractate III — Illuminated Commentary (Section XV)
Hermes teaches that humans have two natures:
1️⃣ The Animal Nature — instinctive, reactive, survival-driven
2️⃣ The Divine Nature — conscious, sovereign, light-driven
Both are within us.
Both are powerful.
But only one leads to freedom.
The Noble Path is the daily choice
to act from divinity rather than instinct.
🧠 KEY INSIGHT
Your true identity is the part of you
that chooses.
Not the emotion.
Not the impulse.
Not the story.
The chooser is the soul.
🜂 Animal Nature Behavior
These are not evil —
they are simply primitive.
They belong to the body, not the soul.
🌟 Divine Nature Behavior
-
Courage guided by wisdom
-
Compassion rooted in strength
-
Purposeful creativity
-
Presence over impulse
-
Love over fear
-
Responsibility over reaction
This is the Christos Mind
within Hermetic thought:
Light in action.
🔥 The Daily Crossroads
Every decision
is a spiritual doorway.
Will you act from:
-
instinct or intention?
-
fear or understanding?
-
ego or Light?
This is not a one-time test —
it is the ongoing initiation of life.
Hermes says:
Every choice shapes your soul.
✨ Activation Practice
Close your eyes.
Feel your breath.
Say:
“I choose my divine nature.”
That choice
is your liberation.
❓ Reflective Question
Where in your life
do you feel pulled toward reaction
when your soul is calling for intention instead?
That is your next awakening.
